Ok im new here and i decided after some time that i will ask about my problem from you guys.
My broblem is that most of my mods arent working and never did. I read the installation manual u guys wrote and installed them rigth, I THINK. And the weirdest thing is that almost all mods that dont work are survivor skins.
only 2 of survivor skins have worked. That Ligthning mod (FF) and Lucky star survivor pack.
Any advice would be welcome!

PS: Sorry for my bad english

Hi Otaku-Suika and welcome to the forum -
It's ok, this is a common problem, let's see if we can find the cause.

It is good that some mods work, this confirms that you are putting the right files in the right folders, otherwise none of them would work.

Are you loading the survivor mods one at a time? If you have more than one skin/mod for each character they will (almost certainly) not work properly.

You said that you 'THINK' you followed the guide ok, but is there some part of the process that is not clear to you? If you are not sure about any part of the guide ask for help here.

I bet u mean the ingame add-on sections on/off marks. yes i know the deal with those.

But i forgot to mention that my source add-on installer says "my mod is succesfully installed"
But when i go to ingame add-on selection the downloaded mod aint there.

I hope that information helped! SORRY for forgotting that!

And your guide was VERY clear! I just thougt that if i did something wrong bechoose survivor mods wont work.

I appreciate your time! :D

PS: sorry for my bad english!

Have you tried MANUALLY moving the files into the addons folder?

One more question, what operating system are you using?

I want to be sure you have followed this - Instructions for installing addons -
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=5158
Go through that guide and see if you can manage to get things working. Let us know if you get stuck and need help.

Be sure to use your mouse to click-and-drag the vpk files into your addons folder, as it says in the guide.
Don't double click the vpk files to install them, it isn't as reliable as it should be.

Your 'Operating System' (OS) means the platform that runs your whole computer, you should see the name when the computer starts or on your desktop. It's probably Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Linux etc. If you have a Mac it would be OSX or similar.

Try that guide and let us know if you managed to get things working.
good luck.

"Now you need to place that file in the correct folder. The path to the folder may vary according to your Operating System, but it should resemble the following (Windows users):
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons
If you do not see a folder called 'addons' simply create one. Drag the vpk file into that addons folder."

I have put all my downloads to "downloaded files" and some mods work. I didnt find this:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons
anywhere.
I open my Winrar file, find the add-on, drag and drop it to the "downloaded files" it extracts, i open the add-on, steam source add-on installer pops up, it says the mod has been succesfully downloaded, I open lfd2, i go see the add-ons menu, then the mod hasnt come in there.

I use windows 7.

Sorry for my bad english. and thank you.

Don't double click it. Move it manually to to the addons folder. If there isn't one, just create one.

follow this path for win7
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\addons

as said - if there is no 'addons' folder just make one yourself.
